CONTRIBUTIONS POUR IN FROM ALL QUARTERS TOWARDS CM’sRELIEF FUND

Gangtok, March 30: (IPR) The State Bank of Sikkim Employees Association called on the Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. S. D. Dhakal at Secretariat and presented a cheque of Rs. 501, 096 towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in order to support government’s effort to fight against the global crisis of COVID-19.

The cheque was handed over in the presence of Shri. H.K Chettri (Managing Director), Shri. P.W. Bhutia(CGM), Sunil Tamang(President) SBSEA, Rabden Bhutia(General Secretary) SBSEA. The employees donated their one day salary for the cause. The Secretary thanked the State Bank of Sikkim Employees Association for the generous contribution towards the cause.

Similarly, Shri Rajeev Mimani of Mimani Enterprises, presented a cheque of Rs. 1,25,000/- to the Secretary to the HCM towards the CM’s Relief Fund to combat Covid-19.

The Mayor of Gangtok Shri. Shakti Singh Choudhary and Deputy Mayor Smt. Lassey Doma called on the Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. S.D. Dhakal at Secretariat this afternoon and presented a cheque of the Rs. 31,000 and Rs. 21,000 respectively from their personal account.

The Dirty Angels Motorcycle Club called on the Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. S.D. Dhakal at Secretariat this afternoon and presented a cheque of the Rs. 16,000.
The cheque was handed over by the Founder member of the Association along with other executive members of the Association. The Secretary thanked the Association on behalf of the Government for their kind gesture and generosity.

Organization of Artists and Musicians in Sikkim (OMAS) called on the Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. S.D. Dhakal at Secretariat this afternoon and presented a cheque of the Rs. 10,000.
The cheque was handed over by the General Secretary Shri. Rinchen Dorjee Bhutia. The Secretary thanked them on behalf of the Government for their contribution at this time of crisis.

Shri. Sushil Goyal called on the Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. S.D. Dhakal at Secretariat this afternoon and presented a cheque of the Rs. 1,00,000 towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in order to support the Governement’s effort to fight against COVID-19.
The Secretary thanked him on behalf of the Government for his contribution at this time of crisis.

Shri Pratap Singh Tamang from Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA) called on the Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. S.D. Dhakal at Secretariat this afternoon and presented a cheque of the Rs. 50,000 from his personal account towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in order to support the Governement’s effort to fight against COVID-19.
The cheque was on behalf of Shri. Pratap Singh Tamang an his wife Smt. Bishnu Maya Gurung. The Secretary thanked them on behalf of the Government for their contribution at this time of crisis.

Shri T.R. Dorjee(AGM), SISCO bank along with Shri K.T. Bhutia(Manager) and Shri. R.K Chettri(Technical Assistant) called on the Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. S.D. Dhakal at Secretariat this afternoon and presented a cheque of Rs. 10,00,000 towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in order to support the Governement’s effort to fight against COVID-19.
The cheque was handed over to Shri. S.D. Dhakal Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister who expressed his gratitude for the generous contribution at this time of crisis.

The members of the Heavenly Path organization called upon Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. S.D.Dhakal at Secretariat today and presented a cheque of Rs. 1,07,000 towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in order to support the Governement’s effort to fight against COVID-19.
The cheque was handed over to Shri. S.D. Dhakal Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister who expressed his gratitude for the generous contribution at this time of crisis.

The due date for payment of monthly electricity bills is extended upto 30th April, 2020 due to the present challenging situation of Covid-19 pandemic and country-wide lock down.

Enchey Alumni Association made a contribution towards CM’s Relief Fund

Enchey Alumni Association represented by Shri S.T.Bhutia presented a cheque of Rupees 1,08,000/- ( Rs one lakh eight thousand)only towards C.M Re relief Fund to Shri S.D.Dhakal, Secretary to H.C.M, in support of the endeavour to combat and contain the spread of covid-19 in the state.

Further, the Association also assured it’s sincere support to any action taken by the government under the stern leadership of Chief Minister, Shri P.S .Tamang to stop the further spread of covid-19 pandemic in the state.

Government to Provide Grants to Registered BOC Workers

Gangtok, March 30(IPR): The State of Sikkim has 7836 numbers of registered building & other construction workers (live and active) as on date.

Taking into consideration the hardship being faced by these construction workers due to the present challenging situation of Covid-19 pandemic and country-wide lock down, the Sikkim State Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister, Labour Department Shri. M. N Sherpa today approved and sanctioned onetime grant of Rs. 2000/- to each registered construction worker to compensate them during the period of lock down due to Covid -19 pandemic.

The compensation would be met from the Board of Construction Workers Cess Fund.

Social Distancing at Poklok-Kamrang GPU

Namchi, 30th March(IPR): As, World Health Organization has advised on maintaining social distancing in order to avoid spreading illness. Staying at least six feet away from other people lessens the chances of catching COVID-19.

Similarly, Poklok-Kamrang GPU in South Sikkim is doing the same to contain the spread of Corona virus.

HCM made a surprise visit to Rangpo

Rangpo, March 30: Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) made a surprise visit to Rangpo today to take stock of preparedness and assess the situation on ground.

The Chief Minister, while lauding the efforts of the Medical team and the police personel manning the border checkpost, called for heightened vigil to ensure that there is absolutely no thoroughfare to and from the border. He also issued clear instructions not to allow any movement of labourers or wage earners, and said that the Government will ensure that necessary arrangements are made for them in the State during the period of lock down.

He appreciated the hard work, dedication and the seriousness with which the frontline workers have served during this adverse situation and assured full cooperation and help from the government.

The Chief Minister also assured the medical team and the doctors that government is fully prepared and stock of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and other logistics are in abundance and they should not worry about anything.

The Chief Minister also visited the quarantine center at New Tourist Lodge Rangpo and took detailed stock of the arrangements made. He expressed his satisfaction and advised the doctors and medical staff to ensure that all the required protocol is followed.

The Chief Minister also instructed SP East and SDM Rangpo to ensure that not a single person crosses the border check post, except for emergency vehicles and vehicles carrying medicines and essential commodities.
