HCM held a video conference with CMOs and DMS

Gangtok, March 31 (IPR): Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) held a video conference with Chief Medical Officers(CMOs) and District Medical Superintendent(DMS) of all four districts here at Samman Bhawan today.

During the conference, the Chief Minister took detailed stock of Health care, status, and preparedness about COVID-19 in all four districts including all health care centers. He inquired about the basic facilities including medical equipment, PPE, medical supplies and manpower status of the District Hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and PHSCs.

He also asked the Chief Medical Officers and District Medical Superintendent to maintain sufficient stock of medicines and directed them that common people at this hour of a pandemic should not face any difficulties in obtaining necessary health care facilities and services.

The medical teams communicated with the Chief Minister and listed out the difficulties faced by their respective areas. The Chief Minister immediately instructed the Principal Secretary (Health) to resolve all necessary issues and provide immediate solution.

The Chief Minister assured all possible help and cooperation from the government and asked them to be on duty diligently and work with dedication and determination.

He appreciated the efforts that are being put in by the front line workers of the Health Department and also appealed that we should all work in tandem and with one goal that is to keep Sikkim away from Covid-19.

The video conferencing was attended by State Health Minister Dr. M.K Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri S.C. Gupta, Principal Secretary Health Shri K. Shrinivasulu, and Secretary(Health) Dr. P.T Bhutia.

Additional wages for MGNREGA workers

Gangtok March 31: The Chief Minister’s Office has issued an advisory for the payment of additional wages of Rs. 13 per day to the MGNREGA workers from the 1st of April 2020. Similarly, the ex gratia payment of Rs. 1000 in two installments of Rs.500 each to the holder of a widow, old age and disability pension as announced by the Government of India. Also, the State Government has announced in the recent budget session where a sum of Rs.500 will be provided by the State in addition to the amount announced by the Central Government.

The women members of the self-help group will also be provided with the amount of Rs. 1500 in three installments of Rs. 500 starting from the 1st of April, 2020. The self-help groups will also get loans up to Rs. 20 lakhs without any collateral guarantee, encouraging them to adopt higher-income generating activities.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister has thanked the Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, Shri. Narendra Singh Tomar for helping the people at the grassroots level in the hour of need.

Gangtok Smart City presented a contribution towards CM’s Relief Fund

Gangtok March 31: Gangtok Smart City Development Limited (GSCDL) presented a contribution of Rs. 20 lakh towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to strengthen the Government’s efforts to fight Covid-19.
The contribution was presented to the Hon’ble Chief Minister by Hon’ble Minister UDHD Shri Arun Upreti, Hon’ble Advisor Smart Cities Shri G.T. Dhungel, Secretary UDHD Ms. Sarala Rai and CEO GSCDL Shri Tarzan Subba, at Samman Bhawan today.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the GSCDL for their noble gesture.

Likewise, a team of Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited led by Shri Prakash Singh, Plant Head, and Shri Sanjay Rai called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang at Samman Bhawan this afternoon and presented a cheque of Rs 10 lakh for Chief Minister’s Relief fund in order to support government’s effort to fight against the global crisis of COVID-19.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the Pharma company for their kind gesture and generosity.

Likewise, a cheque of Rs 4 lakhs was presented to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang at Samman Bhawan this afternoon for Chief Minister’s Relief fund in order to support government’s effort to fight against the global crisis of COVID-19 by the Gumpa Incharge of Lingdum Monastery Chewang Lama on behalf of Rinpoche Zurmang Gharwang.

The Hon’ble Chief expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the Monastery and the Rinpoche for their kind gesture and generosity.

Similarly, Ms. Sita Gurung, LDC in Chief Minister’s Office handed over a cheque of Rs 20,000 to the Confidential Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bikash Basnet for the Chief Minister’s Relief fund in order to support government’s effort to fight against the global crisis of COVID-19.

Shri Basnet expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards Ms Sita Gurung on behalf of the government for her generosity and kind gesture.

A team of Department of Personnel led by Principal Secretary Shri Tenzing Gelek called on the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang at Samman Bhawan this afternoon and presented a cheque of Rs One Lakh thirty nine thousand two hundred and ten (the amount is one day salary contribution of the officers and staff of Department of Personnel) for Chief Minister’s Relief fund in order to support government’s effort to fight against the global crisis of COVID-19.

The Hon’ble Chief expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the Principal Secretary and his officials and staff for their kind gesture and generosity.

Similarly, the OSD to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri D. K Chettri contributed his one months salary (Rs One Lakh) to the Chief Minister’s Relief fund in order to support government’s effort to fight against the global crisis of COVID-19.

He handed over the cheque to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang at Samman Bhawan this afternoon.
