Hon’ble Governor terms the new National Education Policy as a historic reform

Gangtok, July 31st: Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Ganga Prasad has applauded and welcomed the Centre government moves on the major reforms of the education system, the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Hon’ble Governor termed the new National Education Policy as a historic reform and regulatory framework for the education sector.
Hon’ble Governor said, “The new NEP 2020 will bring a paradigm shift in our teaching and learning process and will make holistic and inclusive mode in both the school and higher education with more focus for all round development of the students. This will benefit our Sikkimese students as well. It will create more opportunities for our children to explore.”
Hon’ble Governor expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and his entire cabinet for this landmark decision. He said that under the visionary leadership of Shri Modi, India’s education sector is going to be effective and also a positive step forward.
The union cabinet on Wednesday has approved the new National Education Policy which frames an overhauling the school curriculum and ushering in key reforms in the higher education.

SUMMARY OF COVID-19 HEALTH BULLETIN

Total new cases in the past 24 hours = 29
(25 cases on RTPCR and 4 cases on Rapid Antigen).
Break-up of 25 cases on RTPCR:
24 from IBM and Majhigaon areas under Rangpo Nagar Panchayat. All the cases were secondary contacts of the Rangpo and Chanatar social gathering.
1 more person who tested positive was from a paid facility quarantine Centre.
All the 25 persons have been shifted to the COVID Care Centre at Himalayan Pharmacy Institute Boys’ Hostel Majhitar.
Of the 4 cases reported on Rapid Antigen, 3 were from contacts of Rhenock, while 1 was the lady from Dentam in West Sikkim who has been shifted to the Isolation Ward of STNM Hospital today.
The 3 cases from Rhenock contact tracing have also been shifted to STNM Hospital.
Total Cured and Discharged in the past twenty-four hours = 17.
Total Cured and Discharged till date = 231.
Total Active Cases = 407.
Total Deaths = 1.
Cumulative Total = 639

16 patients discharged from Chujachen COVID care centre

Out of 24 positive cases lodged in Chujachen Covid Care centre, 16 have been cured and discharged today.
They got treated in Covid Care Centre throughout, and did not have to be admitted in STNM Hospital.
Now only 8 people are left in the Isolation Centre at Chujachen Senior Secondary School.
