HCM visited Gyalchen Karma Thrinlay Monastery located at Bishum Phodong

Itanagar December 3(IPR): On the second day of his two days official tour of Arunachal Pradesh, the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri P.S Tamang(Golay) visited Gyalchen Karma Thrinlay Monastery located at Bishum Phodong, where he was accorded a warm welcome in a traditional manner and entertained with rich cultural and religious extravaganza.
MLA Dirang Shri Phurba Tshering, MLA Bomdila Dongru Siongju , DC Bomdila , DC Dirang along with huge numbers of locals were present to welcome the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

MLA Dirang Shri Phurba Tsheting during the function also convened the message Arunachal Pradesh Shri Pema Khandu where he stated that the Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu and expressed his gratitude towards Shri P.S Tamang(Golay) for his visit to Bishom Phodung village.
He also had a special mention about Sikkim as an exemplary state in North East and said Sikkim is the most peaceful and tranquil state in the region.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri P.S Tamang was all praise for Arunachal Government and the Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu for according him warm reception and welcoming him to this beautiful state.
He said that this is his first visit of Arunachal Pradesh and he was very pleased and happy to visit this beautiful state which has similar culture, tradition and unity in diversity like Sikkim,
Shri P.S Tamang(Golay) had a special mention for the kind of welcome he received in the state and said that Arunachal replicates Atithi deva vawo in their mannerism.

Shri P.S Tamang stated that he was very impressed with the kind of development Arunachal Pradesh has achieved in the field of sports and skill development and also mentioned about the progress made by Arunachal Pradesh in the field of Hydel power generation and said we can work together in tandem especially in tourism sector and Hydel projects.
The Chief Minister Shri P.S Tamang expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards Union Minister Shri Kiran Rijjuji who hails from Arunachal Pradesh for doing his best to see that His Holiness  17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje can visit Sikkim.

He also thanked Passang Tshering Rimpoche for his kindness showered to the delegation from Sikkim.

Tyeongsi SiriJunga Statue Foundation Day

Hee Kengbari, December 3(IPR): The Second Tyeongsi SiriJunga Statue Foundation Day celebrated with much traditional fervor and enthusiasm at Yumang Thegu / Hee Gaon, West Sikkim, today.
Hon’ble Minister for Public Health Engineering & Water Resources, Shri Bhim Hang Limboo graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, AH&VS, IPR & Printing and Stationery Departments Shri Lok Nath Sharma as the Guest of Honour. The programme was also attended by the Hon’ble  Administrative Advisor Shri MP Subba, BDO Dentam BAC Shri Bijay Subba, officials, Principals, Teachers, Students and community leaders and public at large. The programme was organised by 2nd Tyeongsi Naeet Yuksing Tumdum Chumbo.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Bhim Hang Limboo informed that a delegation has appraised the state government regarding the required infrastructure for the upgradation of the Tyeongsi SiriJunga complex. He appealed entire Limboo community to cooperate and maintain unity for the smooth manifestation of various activities for the progress and development of the community members.
He urged people to have patience and faith on the present government and asked for little more time to systematize things in order which was left unsystematic by the previous government, he added. Further he stressed on cultural significance of Limboo community and advised youth artists to care and preserve for future generations.

Minister Shri Lok Nath Sharma, in his address, threw lights on vision of the State Govt under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri P. S. Tamang and said that the government is putting strong efforts to preserve culture and tradition of all communities. The Government is fully committed to introduce SiriJunga circuit connecting unintroduced SiriJunga Cave of historic significance located at Reshi Khola. He also enlightened gathering to imbibe wisdom and teachings of their respective philosophers to accomplish lofty and noble deeds in our life.

Emphasizing on the importance of Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry in our daily life Minister Sharma informed few of the encouraging initiatives and said that the state government will introduce special monthly honorarium to the Milk Producers in near future. The monthly honorarium of Rupees Three Thousand, Two thousand and Fifteen Hundred will be provided to the Milk Producer who delivers twenty five liters, fifteen liters and ten liters of Milk respectively, at their respective collection centre. Minister Sharma also underlined provision of subsidised loan and special grant for the farmers. He also spoke on the developmental activities being taken up by the state government. He also recalled the notable contributions made by then opposition in the last few years for the establishment of statue in the complex.

He also assured to address the pending works of the SiriJunga complex and to celebrate the event in more magnificent way in future period.

Earlier, Shri S.M Tamling briefed on the purpose and objective of organising the event while Shri SM Hembya Administrator of Tyeongsi SiriJunga elaborated the administrative process and functioning of the complex.

Inter School Literary contest was also organised under different categorical competition of Limboo handwriting, Limboo poem, Limboo essay.

The programme also saw traditional performances of Chyabrung competition and ethnic culture of Limboo community like Yeh-rak, Hakparey, Tam-ah-k, Khyalee, palam etc.

Hon’ble Chief Justice High Court of Sikkim Mr Justice Arup Kumar Goswami visited District and Sessions Court at Namchi

Namchi, 3rd December (IPR): Hon’ble Chief Justice High Court of Sikkim Mr Justice Arup Kumar Goswami visited District and Sessions Court at Namchi, today. He was accompanied by Registrar General Mr. K.W.Bhutia, OSD High Court of Sikkim Ms. Subarna Rai and other officials.

Upon his arrival the Chief Justice was given a warm welcome by District and Sessions Judge (South) Mr. Jiwan Kharga, Chief Judical Magistrate (South) Ms. Ranjita Pradhan, Senior Civil Judge cum Judicial Magistrate (South) Ms. Jwala D.Thapa and other officials from District and Sessions Court, Namchi. A guard of honour was also presented by IRBn.

The Chief Justice inspected various divisions and sections under District and Sessions Court, Namchi.

During his visit he also met and interacted with the members of Namchi Bar Association wherein they briefed the Hon’ble Chief Justice regarding the working of the association. The Chief Justice gave them valuable suggestions, guidance and advises and enquired about the under construction building of Alternative Dispute Redressal Forum in the District and Sessions Court premises.

Thereafter, the Hon’ble Chief Justice visited Siddheswara Dhaam at Solophok along with other officials.

The Chief Justice along with other officials also visited and inspected Court of Civil Judge cum Judicial Magistrate at Yangang Subdivision and interacted with officials and staff.

Minister Shri.Samdup Lepcha chaired a meeting for Namsoong celebration

Mangan, December 3 (IPR): The Hon’ble Minister for Roads and Bridges-cum-Patron-in-chief for Namsoong Celebration Committee, Shri Samdup Lepcha, chaired a preparatory meeting for Namsoong celebration with the Heads of Department of North District here at the Conference Hall of Election Office, DAC, Mangan.

The meeting attended amongst other by Area MLA, Dzongu, Shri Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, District Collector, North, Shri Tenzing T. Kaleon, Superintendent of Police, North, Shri Sonam Gyatso Bhutia, and other diginitaries unanimously decided that the tentative date for Namsoong celebration would be January 2nd to January 4th 2020.

Minister Shri Lepcha talked about having the privilege of getting a chance to be a Patron-in-Chief of Namsoong Celebration Committee and assured that he will serve the committee with his best effort from his end.

The Minister directed GREF and the Roads and Bridges Department to keep the road clear leading up to Namprikdang ground and clean up the blockages lying in the either side of road. Further, he hoped that this Namsoong celebration will one landmark event.

Furthermore, he stressed on better traffic system, proper electrification, smooth road condition, regular water supply and cleanliness during the celebration.

Area MLA, Dzongu, Shri Pintso Namgyal Lepcha extended thanks on behalf of the people of Dzongu to the Minister Shri Lepcha for accepting the post of Chief Patron for Namsoong Celebration Committee. He sought better co-ordination from every department to make the festival a grand success.

During the meeting, the District Collector, North, Shri Tenzing T. Kaleon gave instructions to HoDs of the various Line departments of the District and informed that today’s meeting is basically conducted to entrust their respective duties pertaining to the celebration.

Superintendent of Police, North, Shri Sonam Gyatso Bhutia assured that the law and order will be maintained in a smooth way during the celebrations.

General Secretary, Namsoong Celebration Committee, Shri Samten Lepcha said that Namsoong is one of the oldest festivals celebrated in Sikkim. He requested support from the District Administrative Centre to make this festival a grand success.

Minister Shri.Lok Nath Sharma chaired a coordination meeting

Gyalshing, 3rd December 2019 (IPR): The Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA of Gyalshing Bermiok constituency Shri Lok Nath Sharma chaired a coordination meeting to prepare a comprehensive plan for upcoming 315th Birth Anniversary of Tyeongsi SiriJunga at SiriJunga premises, Martam, today.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri P.S. Tamang has consented to grace the occasion as the Chief Guest on the Birth Anniversary of Tyeongsi SiriJunga on 12th December 2019 at Martam.

The meeting had open interaction on initial progress of the preparations made for the celebration and further discussed at length on logistical and other arrangements including ritual worship, construction of stage, power connectivity, water supply, sanitation, culture programme, arrangement of furniture, fooding, transportation etc. Thereafter the work responsibilities have been distributed to different assignee for smooth accomplishment of the programme.

Minister Sharma who is also the Chief Patron of Organizing Committee, in his brief address, marked the Birth Anniversary of SiriJunga as a spiritual programme and urged people to fulfill assigned responsibilities with complete dedications and contributions. Further he called for an active coordination and cooperation to succeed comprehensive preparatory plan with selfless spirit and devotion. Further he advised to maintain sanctity and religious ethos within the SiriJunga premises and surrounding area as a mark of respect of spiritual centre. He also drew lights on developmental activities being taken up within the Gyalshing Bermiok constituency.

The meeting unanimously supported various resolutions including a unique initiative to avoid use of plastics and khadas during the celebration.

Teesta Rangeet MSME Utsav

3rd – 5th December 2019:A press conference was held at Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom, Zero Point, Gangtok on 2nd December 2019 by the Commerce and Industries Department on the eve of the inauguration of the Teesta Rangeet MSME Utsav. The press conference was addressed jointly by Dr. Thomas Chandy, Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, Ms. Alka Arora, Joint Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, Mr. Udaya Kumar, Director, National Small Industries Corporation, New Delhi and Ms. Mercy Apao Director MSME Ministry..

The Teesta Rangeet MSME Utsav is the first of its kind being held in the state and is in pursuance of the state government policy to promote micro and small enterprises and promote local entrepreneurs and startups to give expression to their business ideas. The Utsav has been organized with the objective of providing forward and backward linkages to the local entrepreneurs and to provide a platform for local entrepreneurs to interact with buyers, exporters and investors directly in order to explore better marketing possibilities, both in domestic and international market.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Thomas Chandy, Additional Chief Secretary stated that there are more than 70 entrepreneurs who are participating in the Utsav, drawn mainly from the handicrafts, food processing and services sector. He stated that there would be Business-2-Business and Business-2-Government meetings during the three-day event, apart from fashion show and cultural programmes based on local products.

Joint Secretary, Ms. Alka Arora stated that MSME Ministry wanted to support Sikkim’s entrepreneurs to get started with their business and also to enable them to become bigger entrepreneurs and join the mainstream. She said that Sikkim had potential in the food processing sector which has become big business in modern times. She lauded the State Government for implementing the scheme most successfully among the northeastern states. Mr. Udaya Kumar, Director stated that his organization will be supporting the State Government in MSME development. Ms. Mercy Apao, Director, Ministry of MSME also spoke on the occasion.

The Utsav is being funded by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India and supported by National Small Industries Corporation, Public Sector Undertaking of the Ministry of MSME.

Minister Shri Lok Nath Sharma attends the Balachaturdashi Mela Cup Open Football Tournament 2019 at Legship

Gyalshing, 2nd December, 2019 (IPR): Minister-cum-Area MLA of Gyalshing Bermiok constituency Shri Lok Nath Sharma attended the final match of the Balachaturdashi Mela Cup Open Football Tournament 2019 as the Chief Guest at Community Ground, Legship, today.

Brotherhood FC Ranipool won the Tournament in the exciting final match by 4-2 goals against Childhood FC Namchi. The tournament was organised by Legship based NGO Manav Sewa Samiti.

The winner team of the tournament Brotherhood Ranipool was presented Trophy along with the Cash Award of Rupees One Lakh while the Runners-up Namchi received Rs. Seventy Thousand only along with the Trophy.

Minister Sharma, in his address, informed that the Constituency Level Football Tournament is scheduled to be organised at Bermiok from 16th to 26th December 2019 in coordination with the Sports and Youth Affairs Department. The best performing player will be selected under the supervision of departmental officials and further more prestigious platform will be availed to the selected local players.

He mentioned that the ongoing construction of new road connectivity from 8th Mile to Omchung School will be accomplished at the earliest and the proposed work pertaining to the establishment of Rock Climbing at the steep hill of Community Ground shall be initiated next year.

Minister also outlined the Youth centric programmes of the state government under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri P.S Tamang and informed that a Coaching Centre for Civil Service Examination will also be inaugurated for the educated youths.

Further, he urged people to maintain unity and communal harmony and to extend support and cooperation for the all round development of the constituency.

During the programme Minister Sharma also distributed Three Hundred numbers of Chairs to Gyalshing Omchung Zilla Territorial based five registered Non Governmental Organisations under Gyalshing Bermiok constituency. Minister handedover one hundred chairs to Manav Sewa Samiti- Legship while the other four NGOs including Milan Samaj- Omchung , Jana Kalyan Samaj 5th Mile/Omchung, Jana Suraksha Samaj-Middle Gyalshing and Pragati Samaj 8th Mile/ Gyalshing received fifty chairs each.

The Legship Taxi Driver Association also donated one Oxygen Cylinder for the Medical Ambulance of Manav Sewa Samiti.

On the occasion the Organizing Committee felicitated and honoured Minister Sharma for his remarkable social works and other noble deeds.

The launch programme of Matru Vandana Saptah under (PMMVY)

Gangtok, 2nd Dec (IPR):The launch programme of Matru Vandana Saptah 2019 under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana(PMMVY) was organised at the conference hall of Social Justice and Welfare Department,Lumsey, Tadong here today.
Smt Dhan Jyoti Mukhia, Secretary,SJ&W Department graced the occasion as the chief guest along with guest participants and host of officials from SJ&W Department.
Matru Vandana Saptah is observed every year with an objective to intensify the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and create a competitive spirit among States and UTs.The best performing States and Districts will be subsequently rewarded at the National level.
The week-long Matru Vandana Saptah 2019 will be celebrated from 2nd to 8th December and is themed as ” Towards Building A Healthy Nation- Surakshik Janani, Vikshit Dharini”.
The programme commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamps by the chief guest and followed by the welcome address from Deputy Director,ICDS, SJ&W Dept, Shri G.M Subba wherein he presented a brief report and overview on PMMVY, a maternity benefit programme under Ministry of Women and Child Development,Govt of India before the gathering.
Following this,Project Director, Shri Phuchung Bhutia in his address spoke and briefly highlighted on the launch of Matru Vandana Saptah 2019.Further,he urged the gathering to increase the awareness of the ‘Scheme’ among the rura and urban beneficiaries.
Subsequently, Shri Santi Kr Pradhan,Project Supervisor, highlighted on the objectives, benefits and important guidelines under PMMVY.
The programme also saw a brief district wise presentation on the aims and objectives of Matru Vandana Saptah by the concerned CDPOs from all the districts. The concerned CDPOs from the respective district also presented a detailed overview of coverage since the implementation of schemes.
Additionally,Dr Anita highlighted and presented a brief summary on the objectives and provided an in-depth report on the present implementation status of Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), a centrally sponsored scheme under National Health Rural Mission.
She also added that the main objective of JSY is to increase institutional deliveries and reduction of Infant mortality rate in the state.
Lastly in her key note address before the gathering, Chief guest,Smt Dhan Jyoti Mukhia spoke on the need to create more awareness among the masses both at rural and urban level and directed the supervisors and CDPOs to take up more awareness campaign in all the districts of the State. She added that the launch of Matru Vandana Saptah will facilitate in getting more enrollment among both the rural and urban masses.
She mainly pointed out that the performance of Sikkim has not been up to the mark as per the target set up by the Centre,hence she urged the CDPOs and supervisors to put in an accelerated efforts to achieve the targets before the stipulated time set up by the Centre.
She also directed the concerned officials to streamline and improve the PMMVY benefit disbursement process.Additionally,she directed the CDPOs to tie up with the functionaries during the upcoming Gram Sabha to get more enrollment and ensure that no household remains uncovered.
She further mentioned about the importance of Aadhar linkages among the beneficiaries from both the rural and urban areas.She so spoke on the success of JSY in Sikkim and reiterated that the main objective of JSY is to increase the institutional deliveries and to ensure safe delivery and added that the institutional deliveries in the state have improved and child mortality rate has reduced in the state since the inception of the scheme.
She highlighted on the role of ASHA workers to increase the uptake of the scheme and urged them to improve their overall performances for which the Department will be incentivising top performers and top performing districts accordingly,she added.
Lastly, she highlighted on the series of activities to be undertaken by the Social Justice and Welfare Department which include organising awareness campaigns,football tournament,painting competition,flash mob,etc and urged the participants to be work more diligently and be actively involved in making the events a huge success.
The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms Normit Lepcha,Nodal Officer,PMMVY,Social Justice and Welfare Department.

HCM on Official tour of Arunachal Pradesh met with HCM Shri.Pema.Khandu

Itanagar December 2: The Hon’ble Chief Minister who is on a two days official tour of Arunachal Pradesh met with the Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu in the capital city Itanagar this afternoon.

Shri P. S Tamang is in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh primarily to discuss about the ‘Damwe Hydro Electric Project”.

Both the Chief Ministers had a long discourse and dialogue about the tourism prospects in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. They also discussed in detail about how they can help each other in promoting tourism in both the states.

Further both the Chief Ministers talked about social, political, economical and demographic structure of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

During the meeting the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri P.S Tamang also extended his invitation to Shri Pema Khandu to visit Sikkim, which he gracefully accepted.

The Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu also hosted lunch for Shri P.S Tamang (Golay)and his team from Sikkim.

Constitution Day was observed at Namchi District Administrative Centre

Namchi, 26th November (IPR): District Administrative Centre, Namchi observed Constitution Day at the Conference hall of DAC, today. The program was held to commemorate adoption of the Constitution of India and to mark respect for those who had made contributions in drafting the Constitution of India. The Constitution of India was adopted on 26th November 1949 and later came into effect on 26th January 1950.

The District Collector (S) Shri. Ragul K. read out the preamble of the Constitution of India to all the officials, staff and members from Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) who were also present during the occasion.

The officials also highlighted the importance of Constitution and shared the various ideas of Ambedkar who is known as architect of the Constitution of India.

Present on the occasion were ASP (S) Shri. Jayapandiyan J., SDM Namchi Shri. Chiran Rizal, Joint Director Land Revenue Shri.D.K. Rai, SDPO Namchi Shri. Prakash Subba along with officials and staff from the various Departments and members of NGOs.

Similarly, South District Zilla Panchayat Office, Namchi also observed the day. ADC Development Namchi Shri C.P. Rai read out the preamble of the Constitution of India to all the officers and staff present.
