Co-ordination meet held for officials engaged in election duty here at Mangan DAC

Mangan, 12 Mar (IPR): With the announcement of General Election 2019 by the Election Commission of India on 10 March, District Magistrate-cum- RO, North, Shri Raj K. Yadav, and Superintendent of Police, North, Shri Kungzang Dorjee Shangderpa, conducted co-ordination meeting with officials who are engaged with election duty here at DAC Conference hall today. The meeting basically convened in connection with free, fair and robust conduct of election.

The DM brief that 24×7 District Control Room have been established at DAC conference hall with landline No. 03592-234204 and 03592-234438. As informed by District Collector cum Returning Officer, North people can lodge their complaints in district control room through landline no. 03592-234204 and 03592-234438 and online C-Vigil application on any violation of model code of conduct. Nomination of the candidates will be starts from 18th of March and polling will be held on 11 April.

In total, there are 52 polling stations in the district. 6 Flying Squad, 6 Static Surveillance Team, 10 Sector Magistrate(SM) and 10 of Sector Police Officers are deputed in the District to enforce Model Code of Conduct (MCC) more effectively. For Expenditure and Monitoring of the Candidate 3 Video Viewing Team (VVT), 4 Video Surveillance Team (VST), 3 Accounting team and 3 Assistant Expenditure Observer (AEO) have been appointed and are present in the Control Room.

All polling stations have been ensured regarding assured Minimum Facilities. Sector Magistrates are directed to visit all polling stations physically for mapping vulnerability as per direction of Election Commission of India (ECI). During the meeting the DM directed the sector Magistrate to ensure removal of any political poster; hoardings etc. from everywhere in the district and to submit report on assured minimum facilities of all polling station before March 18 and also to ensure facilities like wheel chair and necessary volunteer of PWD voters.

The meeting emphasized on use of C-vigil, National Grievances Redressal system portal (NGRS) online applications. Master Trainer, Shri Mahesh Sharma imparted quick overview of the Model Code of conduct. Further, DM-CUM- RO asked to the officials to handle any political events more humbly and perform their assigned tasks as mandated.
