Cold storage at Mangan Lal Bazaar to be functional by 05 May

Mangan, 30 Apr (IPR): A meeting regarding operation of the cold storage located at Lal Bazaar, Mangan which had remained non-functional for a couple of months took place here at the chamber of District Magistrate (DM), North.

The meeting was chaired by DM, North, Shri Raj Yadav, in the presence of District Planning Officer (DPO), North, Shri Pempa Bhutia, District Zilla Panchayat (NDZP), Councilor of Mangan Nagar Panchayat, Shri Karma Jigdal Bhutia, and concerned officers of line department.

The sole purpose of the meeting was to preserve organic vegetables for long time at cold storage and to levy consistent price of vegetables in the district, buying of vegetables directly from farmers and keep proper maintenance of account for cold storage.

It was decided in the meeting that a new Bank Account for marketing and other transaction related to cold storage will be opened by the month of May.

The meeting also decided that the cold storage will remain open daily from 8 AM to 4 PM after the storage is operational.

The DM said that the cold storage situated at Lal Bazaar in Mangan will be open for the public by 5th May. A rate board will be placed outside the cold storage in which rate of vegetables will be displayed in a daily basis.

Vegetable vendors who wish to keep their vegetable in the cold storage will be charged as per the rate fixed by the concerned department.
