DC Gyalshing chairs a meeting at DAC Rabdentse

Gyalshing, 17 March (IPR): A meeting was held at the DAC, Rabdentse today on scaling up the Kissan Credit Card enrolments amongst the farming community of the district.
District Collector Ms. Yishey D Yongda chaired the meeting which was attended by SP Gyalshing Shri A. K. Tamang, ADC (Development ) Shri Surat Gurung, DGM (NABARD) Shri P. S. Muley, GM, SISCO Bank Gyalshing, Shri Karma Bhutia, AD AHVS Dr. NM Cintury, Heads of Offices of Horticulture, Agriculture and officials of related line Departments.
The meeting was primarily organized to understand the major problems faced by farmers in availing of Kishan Credit Card ( KCC )schemes and to create awareness of the various grants and loan schemes that NABARD has on offer. DGM (NABARD) presented in detail the various programs that are being run and also the major issues faced in KCC.
GM SISCO gave an update that since December ‘22 close to 200 farmers (mostly dairy farmers) had availed of the KCC and in the next week, another 66 lakhs would be granted as loans to farmers through the bank.
The DC called upon all like deptt. officers to carefully go through the list of permissible sectors that NABARD could finance to bring about convergence with ongoing programmes of the government. She stated that there were many schemes where such financial assistance could augment better welfare of the larger public. Priority sectors would include the setting up of Resource Recovery Centres etc.
The DC further instructed SISCO to create awareness of Mobile ATMs installed in the Tashiding area so that people could avail of the facilities since the area doesn’t have any bank with core banking facilities.
