Gangtok, August 5 (IPR): As part of the 75th-anniversary celebration of the country’s independence and to promote the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the Motorcycle Riders fraternity from across the state participated in the Bike Rally organized by the Transport Department, today.
Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang, accompanied by the Minister Transport Department, Shri Sanjit Kharel, flagged off the Bike Rally from Mintokgang, Gangtok. The Rally will end at DAC Pakyong.
Chanting the slogan of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Vande Mataram,’ the Rally had the participation of more than 500 riders who cheerily started their ride to Pakyong. The entourage included participants representing different groups like the Bikers United of Sikkim, Dirty Angels Motorcycle Club, Openroad Wanderers Motorcycle Club, Sikkim Brotherhood Bulleteers, and many more such organizations, including solo riders and female riders with a participant also riding a geared bicycle.
The Chief Minister congratulated and thanked all the riders who participated in the rally. He said the rally was organized to give the message about Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan, celebrated across the country.
He also mentioned that the rally is dedicated to the celebration of the 75th Independence Day in the country. The CM also thanked the organizers for the wonderful initiative to share information about the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.
On the occasion, Speaker SLA, Shri L.B Das, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Political Secretary to CM, Press Secretary to CM, Secretary Transport Department along with many government officials were present.
