Hon’ble Deputy Speaker SLA graces the opening ceremony of the 76th Independence Day celebration at Gyalshing

Gyalshing, 3rd August 2022 (IPR): The Yangthang Sporting Club under the aegis of District Administration, Rabdentse organized a football tournament to commemorate the 76th Independence Day celebration which commenced today at Kyongsha Ground, Gyalshing.
To mark the 75 glorious years of the Nation’s Independence under the banner “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the opening ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Deputy Speaker (SLA) Shri Sangay Lepcha as the Chief Guest. Among the guests attending the program were Shri Janak Gurung, Chairman SIDICO, Shri Madhu Sudan Sharma, Additional Political Secretary to HCM West, Smt. Yishey D. Yongda, District Collector Gyalshing, Shri Hari Prasad Chettri, Senior SP, Gyalshing Nagar Panchayat Members and HoDs of the district.
Beginning the celebration, the Chief Guest for the day was given a warm welcome by the present dignitaries and committee members followed by the guard of honor.
The day’s program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamps by the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Lepcha extended his best wishes to all and thanked the organizing committee for inviting him as the Chief Guest. He then elaborated on the recent initiative by the Government of India’s campaign “Har Ghar Tiranga” wherein he requested all to be encouraged to take forward the nation by hoisting the tricolor flag at their residence. In addition, he stressed the feeling of unity where he requested all to maintain the idea of unity to work towards a progressive nation.
Then the Chief Guest moved ahead in his speech by extending his appreciation to the organizing committee for putting efforts to make the celebration a grand success.
During the event, the National Flag was also presented to the Chief Guest by Shri Dinesh Chandra Yadav (Deputy Commandant) on behalf of 36th Battalion Yangtey was one of the important highlights of the day.
The opening match was played between Young Boys Football Academy, Kyongsha versus Sunakhari Samaj, Tikjeck. The Young Boys Football Academy team emerged as the winner of the match by scoring 5 against 2.
Earlier, the initial speech at the program was made by Smt. Yishey D. Yongda while the program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Janak Gurung.
