Namchi, 12th May (IPR): Along with the rest of the world International Nurses Day was celebrated at Namthang Health and Wellness Centre (HWC), today. Present during the celebration were Medical Officer In Charge Dr. Mingyur Lassopa, Senior Dental Surgeon Dr. Subodh Pradhan alongwith the nurses, Mid Level Health Provider, ANMs and other staff.
Addressing, the gathering Dr. Mingyur Lassopa spoke about the importance of International Nurse Day which she said is the birth anniversary of
Florence Nightingale, the English social reformer, statistician and founder of Modern Nursing. This day is dedicated to that strong pillar of health care system, who work day and night for the people. She further thanked the efforts of the nurses who have relentlessly extended a helping hand to those who need.
During the course of the celebration Senior ANM Tila Rupa Chettri also shared her thirty years of service experiences. She added that their are many challenges in this field but the nurses take additional precautions in regards to infection control and screening in order to keep all the patients safe.
Additionally, other nurses also spoke about their experiences and collectively highlighted that
being a nurse is “a life changing job”. They also spoke about how with efficient teamwork they handled the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to valiantly serve the patients.
Namthang HWC also presented token of appreciation acknowledging the sacrifices put up by the nurses
