Melli, 22nd May (IPR): Of what may be termed as a happy homecoming for the stranded people, a total of 48 people from South and West District out the 1,310 (814 from Sikkim and 496 from WB) travelling from Bengaluru arrived at Melli screening centre at 10 a.m in the morning.

A total of 3 buses carrying 16 passengers each including the drivers arrived at Melli Screening Centre. More of such buses with the remaining people from South and West District are expected to be reach the screening centre in a few moment’s time.

It may be pertinent to add here that these people have arrived in a special train that had been arranged to ferry the Sikkimese people from Bengaluru to NJP which arrived at 6:30 a.m at NJP railway station.
