Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary School wins the National Level Pipe Band Competition

Namchi,23rd Jan ( IPR): Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary School has bagged the winner trophy at the National Level Pipe Band Competition held at National War Memorial, Delhi on the 22nd of January.
The competition was organized by the Ministry of Education in Collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, Government of India as a part of the Republic Day Celebration 2023.
Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary School was selected as the winner of the State Level Competition organized by Samagra Siksha, Education Department. After this, they cleared the National Semi-final through Virtual Mode. The jury for the National Semi-Final was appointed by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India where the top 8 Schools in 4 categories were selected for the final competition.
A team of 26 participants led by the band Master Miss Dawa Sedan Sherpa along with the Principal Mrs. Bandana Rai, Escort teachers Miss Rinzing Wangmoo Sherpa, Miss Lakpha Lamu Sherpa and Mr. Bhim Psd. Sharma of Namchi Girls’ Senior Secondary School had gone to participate in the category of National Level Pipe Band Competition where they emerged victorious and brought Laurel for our State, adding one more feather to our cap.
The Principal, Teachers and Students have expressed their deepest gratitude towards Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang for his love and blessings. They have also expressed their gratitude towards DC Namchi Mr. M. Bharani, CEO, Namchi, Education Department Mr. K. Imbaraj and all the Officials of the Education Department for their motivation and kind support.
It is to be mentioned here that, Secretary DoSEL, Ministry of Education, Shri. Sanjay Kumar, Additional Secretary, DoSEL, Ministry of Education, Smt. Lamchonghoi Sweety Changsan and Joint Secretary (Training) Ministry of Defense Mrs. Nishtha Upadhyay were present during the Final Competition and handed over the winning trophy to the team NGSSS.
