One week Residential Programme on Government`s Policy and Schemes for the welfare of Scheduled Castes Community organized at Paljor Stadium concluded.

Gangtok, July 28 (IPR): A week long Residential Programme on Government`s Policy and Schemes for the welfare of Scheduled Castes Community organized by Biswakarma (Kami) Kalyan Samity (BKKS) at Paljor Stadium concluded, today. The valedictory function was graced by the Minister for Health Care, Human Services and Family Welfare, Information and Public Relations and Printings Deptts. Mr. Arjun Kumar Ghatani.

Altogether forty-six students participated in the training programme wherein participants were enlightened on various schemes including Chief Minister`s Start-up Scheme, Chief Minister`s Meritorious Scholorship Schemes, Dr. BR Ambedkar Scholorship, Atrocities Act against SC community, Green Mission, Organic Farming, Policies and Schemes under Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department, Health and Tourism Department.

Subjects like Art of Living, lifestyle with religion, power of mental health, self realisation, time management, personality development, hindu culture and tradition, values of games and sports, planning & management of daily activities were also included in their training session.

Minister A.K. Ghatani, in his address, congratulated BKKS for organizing such a training session to inform and educate entire SC community about policies and schemes implemented by the state govt under leadership of Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling. He also underlined schemes including Dr. BR Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme and provision of free education upto college level and stated that the newly initiated educational policy of the state govt is invaluable for uplifting people from SC community and all other underprivileged families. He also mentioned about notable achievements made by the some of the exemplary products of government schools and enlightened students on possibilities to embrace ambitious dream through existing academic standard of government schools in Sikkim.

Minister also urged BKKS to join hands together with all communities and said that they should not feel stigmatised, inferior and confined within themselves. Individuals should come forward to secure position on merit basis, he added. He also informed about the various infrastructural development carried out by the state govt for the community of Scheduled Caste community like ongoing construction of SC Bhawan, SC Research Centre etc. Further he encouraged trainees towards entrepreneurship and self employment sector. Later the Minister also handed over certificates to the participants.

Trainees also participated in Yoga session that is being organized every morning under the banner of Nava Chetna Siveer. Plantation and cleanliness drive were also organized in the stadium premises.

The programme was also addressed by retired govt.employ. Dr Bela Cintury.
Dr. RB Biswakarma also enlightened house on community based data and proposed vote of thanks.
