State CS along with HoDs call on caretaker CM Mr. Pawan Chamling at Mintokgang

Gangtok, 25 May (IPR): Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim, Mr. A.K. Shrivastava, along with the Principal Secretaries, HoDs, DC (East) and officials called on the caretaker Chief Minister of Sikkim, Mr. Pawan Chamling, and extended best wishes at Mintokgang today.

Mr. Chamling, in his brief address, said, “In democracy, we should all uphold the mandate of the people and work towards constructive development of the state.”

Stressing on cooperative work in unison for implementation of policies efficiently and honestly, he made a strong commitment to act as a constructive opposition leader and to set an example about what opposition is and its responsibilities.

Further, he added that the administration should be democratized and systematized to ensure equality that will boost society towards democratic setup. He affirmed that the State government ruled under his leadership for last twenty five years will be considered as golden era in the history of Sikkim. He also shared his experiences of being associated with the bureaucracy for last 25 years and anticipated sense of gratitude for the security, respect, cooperation and non interference for their work and policies.

He also underlined achievements made by the state government under his leadership and pointed out notable accomplishments which has transformed Sikkim into the most progressive state in the country.

Chief Secretary,Mr. A.K. Shrivastava, on behalf of the bureaucrats, expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Chamling for his contributions and extended best wishes for his future endeavours.

The CS said, “We should all respect the mandate and will of the people and said that in a democratic set-up, players may change but the game continues.”

At the end, he thanked Mr. Chamling and stated that the State has progressed by leaps and bounds and the State today prides itself in the success and progress it has achieved over the decades.
