The annual month-long ‘Poshan Maah’ campaign under the aegis of the Women and Child Development Department

Soreng, Sept 30 (IPR): The annual month-long ‘Poshan Maah’ campaign under the aegis of the Women and Child Development Department came to a conclusion today with a function organised at Soreng Senior Secondary School.
The closing ceremony was graced by MLA Soreng Chakung Constituency, Shri Aditya Golay as the Chief Guest.
Also present on the occasion were Advisor, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Shri M.N. Subba, Chairperson, Skill Development Department, Shri Binod Basnet, Panchayats, DC Soreng, Shri Bhim Thatal, ADC Shri Dhiraj Subedi, ADC Development Shri Gaayas Pega, Chief Pay and Accounts Officer, Shri K.B. Subba, ADC Shri Ranjan Rai, CDPO Smt Gouri Tamang, and officers and field functionaries of Women and Child Development Department. The programme had the presence and participation of Anganwadi workers.
The month-long nationwide campaign was launched on the 1st of September, 2022, in the conference hall of District Administration Centre, Soreng, under the Chairmanship of DC Soreng, Shri Bhim Thatal.
The ceremony began with the welcome address by ICDS Supervisor, Nayabazar, Smt. Dik Maya Chettri, followed by the presentation of Poshan Song by Anganwadi Worker, Lower Salangdang, Ms. Bhim Maya Bhujel.
A brief report on the activities covered during the month-long ‘Poshan Maah’ campaign was presented by CDPO Soreng, Smt. Gouri Tamang.
The chief guest of the event, MLA Shri Aditya Golay in his address lauded the officers and field functionaries of the Women and Child Development Department for organizing various theme-based activities throughout the month to raise awareness about the ‘Poshan Maah’ campaign.
He said that the ICDS workers have a huge role in the holistic development of a child. He added that they are nurturing young minds who will go on to contribute to the development of the State and the Nation. He commended their efforts and urged them to remain motivated to serve with the same zeal. He added that parents should also be counselled to get more involved in the activities of their children.
The programme comprised Rhymes by Sombaria Zone, a skit play by Soreng I Zone, Dance by Nayabazar Zone, Poem on Poshan by Nayabazar Zone, and a song by Rinchenpong Zone.
On the occasion, the best performing Anganwadi workers under the Matru Vandana Saptaha as part of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana were felicitated by the chief guest.
Earlier, the chief guest and the dignitaries visited the stalls put up by the participants of all the six zones under the Soreng District. They also participated in the Poshan Maah signature campaign.
The closing ceremony came to a conclusion with the word of thanks proposed by ICDS Supervisor, Rinchenpong, Smt. Manju Gurung.
