Gyalshing, 29th Sep(IPR):
The first meeting of the District Panchayat Performance Assessment Committee (DPPAC) for Gyalshing District was convened today at the conference hall of the District Administrative Centre, Rabdentse.
The meeting was chaired by the District Collector-cum-Chairperson (DPPAC), Ms Yishey D Yongda.
The meeting had the presence of Shri. Surat Gurung, ADC(Development), Shri Ganga Pd. Sharma, District Planning Officer, WDZP, Deputy Director (Education), DE (WDZP), Deputy Director (AH&VS), Deputy Director (I/C Agriculture), Sr. Welfare Officer, Horticulture Development Officer and Officials from concerned departments.
DPO/Zilla gave a brief introduction on the agenda of the meeting wherein he informed that the award is an initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj to incentivize the best performing District Panchayats and Gram Panchayats recommended by the State Government according to the assessments report of DPPAC.
Shri. Shiva Pd. Sharma, Field Facilitator, SIRD & PR gave a presentation on the guideline of the revamped National Panchayat Awards including compliances with Standard Operating Procedure. He also informed us that the award will be given based on the performance of the Panchayat which will be evaluated in nine parameters. Furthermore, he pointed out that the main objective of such Awards is an encouragement to highlight the work done by the Panchayati Raj Institutions.
Mr Kamal Nath Sharma, Panchayat Co-ordinator apprised the gathering about the technical aspects of the exercise and assured assistance for online work.
After careful assessment and discussion with the representatives, the DC asked all members of the committee to collectively pitch in proactively for the exercise.
Further, it was decided that the orientation programme for DPPAC and field functionaries will be held on 12th Oct 2022 at Zilla Bhawan with attendance of all.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the chair.
