Gangtok, January 5: As per the direction of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang, a coordination meeting was organized today with the representatives of 11 ethnic left out communities who were invited to put forth their thoughts and suggestions on the issue at Samman Bhawan.
During the meeting, the representatives presented their opinions and updated about the work that has been done so far. They also shared their experiences in their struggle on different occasions, towards achieving their prolonged demands.
Hon’ble Chief Minister in his address expressed that the inclusion of the left out communities is one of the promises in the manifesto and the government will leave no stone unturned to deliver it. The Chief Minister also informed them about the visits to New Delhi, where the delegation had met a number of Union Ministers and prominent personalities including the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Home Minister, Minister for Tribal Affairs, and other central leaders. It was also reiterated that the lone M.P Lok Sabha Shri Indra Hang Subba has also been dedicatedly working towards this cause.
The Chief Minister assured all that the State Government will be working in a transparent manner and not make empty promises. It was the first time that the representatives have gathered under one roof and encouraged all to collectively work as all of them have a common goal and stated that ‘Unity is Strength’ and together the goal can be achieved and urged them to form a committee to further strengthen the cause.
There has been an addition of Majhi community to the 11 left out communities making it 12. The Chief Minister assured to extend all possible support to the organizations and stated that the doors are always open for them.
The Chief Minister also informed them about visiting New Delhi with a delegation which will include Ministers, MLAs, MP, and the representatives of the 12 communities. The Chief Minister further said that the Government will actively strive to fulfill the aspirations of the people, while unity and mutual cooperation is very significant to achieve the goal.
On the occasion, Cabinet Ministers, Shri Arun Upreti, Shri Sanjeet Kharel, Shri L.N. Sharma, Shri B.S. Panth, MLA Rhenock Constituency Shri Bisnu Kr. Khatiwara, M P. Lok Sabha, Shri Indra Hang Subba, Political Advisor to HCM, Shri T. N. Dhakal, Press Advisor to HCM, Shri C. P. Sharma, Chairperson OBC, Ms. Pavitra Bhandari along with other officers and Executive members of the various organization were present on the occasion.
