Training on Agriculture Drone held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra South Sikkim

Namchi, 25th January: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Namthang conducted a day-long training and demonstration program on Agriculture Drones under Drone Technology Demonstration for the first time in Sikkim wherein farmers, field functionaries of the Agriculture and Horticulture department, scientific and technical staff of KVK participated in the program. The resource persons from AMTRON Drone School, Guwahati provided training through ppt mode on the benefits of the use of drones in agriculture as well as a live demonstration on the handling of the Kisan Drone. Drone technology is an advanced agriculture technology that is still in a nascent stage and this emerging technology can help reduce time and increase the efficiencies of the farmers which ultimately will increase efficiency in agricultural production.
An agricultural drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle used in agriculture operations, mostly in yield optimization and in monitoring crop growth crop protection and crop production. Agricultural drones provide information on crop growth stages, crop health, and soil variations.
