Two new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the State

Gangtok, June 26: (IPR) As per Covid-19 Health Bulletin issued by DG cum Secretary Health today, 2 new positive cases have been reported in the State in the past 24 hours.
He informed that one is an ITBP jawan aged 31 years who had travelled from Sonepat, Haryana to Delhi and onward to Bagdogra on the 15th of June, 2020. After saying in facility quarantine in Siliguri for three days as reported, the ITBP jawan returned to Sikkim on 18th June. He was screened at Rangpo checkpost and sent to Rangrang in North Sikkim, where he was placed in facility quarantine along with 12 of his colleagues. He had developed mild symptoms. He along with five of his colleagues were tested for Covid-19, and unfortunately his test came positive.
This is the first case of Covid-19 in North Sikkim. The remaining people along with the drivers, medical staff and other staff in the quarantine centre will be tested on Tuesday, informed Dr. Bhutia.

The DG cum Secretary informed that
the second case is that of a 22 year old SSB Jawan from Singtam. The line listing and contract tracing is being done. Patient has been admitted in the Isolation ward of STNM Hospital.
